In an interview with Billboard, Cardi B revealed that she is actually very shy to reach out to male artists for collaborations.

“That’s why a lot of collabs that I want, I haven’t gotten yet because I’m scared to reach out,” the Grammy award-winning rapper claims. Who would have thought the smart-talking Cardi B is actually shy?

But that is what she says. She says she is shy, “really shy” she emphasises. “I always get a little star-struck. I’ll be thinking I’m corny, even though I’m funny,” she adds.

This aspect of her personality extends down to her writing or putting her personal life in her songs. Cardi B further says: “When I perform songs like ‘Be Careful’ or ‘Ring’, I usually close my eyes because I get really shy about showing that lovey-dovey side. Even to my engineer, I start giggling… like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t. This is so embarrassing’.”

While the rapper says she still has some collaborations that she really wants, she has had some great ones over the years. Cardi B has featured 21 Savage, Bruno Mars and Maroon 5, who are all big male artists.

Also, for a shy person, Cardi B does go all out in many of her music videos. “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion is one of such songs that cast doubt on Cardi B’s shy side.
