Iyanya released “Sexy Mama” on the 6th of February 2013 as the fifth song on his second studio album, “Desire”, which featured Nigerian singer Wizkid.
“Sexy Mama” took the efforts of both Iyanya and Wizkid while D’Tunes solely produced the hit record.
It is a dancehall and dance-inspired track that contains lyrics related to a man’s interest in a girl he met at a club.
“Sexy Mama”, just as Iyanya’s songs preceding it, did so well among listeners. It was virtually on every chart in the country at the time and its video prompted a nomination for “Best Use of Visual Effects” at the 2013 Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA).
