Popular Nigerian crossdresser and model and media personality, Denrele Edun, took to his Instagram account to narrate the hateful treatment he receives from people who think he is homosexual.
The media personality, who is popular for his free spirit, has opened up that not everyone actually likes him. Some people actually hate his gut. He narrated the experience he gets from a close friend’s husband.
According to Denrele, his close friend is married to a white guy, but the man really doesn’t like him. Denrele took to his Instagram account to post a picture of himself and captioned it with a lengthy caption, narrating his experiences with some people.
“You are NOT for everyone, and that’s not just okay, that’s AMAZING!“, the post begins.
“There’s a close friend of mine (we go way back) whose Expatriate husband can’t STAND the very sight of me,” writes Denrele Edun. “Considering the fact that we have mutual alliances, we run into each other occasionally. And she’s in the strategic Media industry so that’s even more than often,” he continues. “First time he sighted me at a dinner party for one of my close buddies (and just so you know, my sensory organs are exceedingly sharp), I heard him whisper to his wife (my friend), ‘I HATE THE VERY SIGHT OF THAT GUY. F***ING HOMOSEXUAL.
I HOPE HE’S NOT YOUR FRIEND'”.
On overhearing the comment, Denrele says he deliberately walked up to the come “with the biggest welcoming smile plastered all over my face, hugged my friend, shook his hand in a limp shake which he withdrew quickly like I had the Coronavirus and moved away.”
The media personality also shares that was the first time he ever experienced what we would correctly describe as a homophobic reaction from a white person.
He says: “I thought to myself, ‘White man? That’s a first!’ They usually find me intriguing and assume I’m some sort of RockStar!”
