Coronavirus in Nigeria update: 213 new cases recorded on Friday 25 September

Nigeria has recorded an additional 213 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on their 25th of September.

According to the Centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 58,062 confirmed. The Centre also stated that 49,606 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.

Meanwhile, 1,103 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigerians as of the night of Friday, 25th of September was 7,353.

Taking to it’s Instagram page, NCDC tweets: “213 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria:

“Lagos-51, Plateau-51, FCT-29, Rivers-18, Ondo-12, Oyo-9, Osun-8, Gombe-7, Ogun-7, Kaduna-5, Enugu-4, Edo-3, Jigawa-3, Kano-3, Benue-1, Delta-1, Sokoto-1

“58,062 confirmed, 49,606 discharged, 1,103 deaths “

The NCDC also noted some corrections regarding error reporting made on Wednesday 23 September 2020. They also stated that 364 patients who were managed in Katsina community are included in the count of total recoveries.
