Warner Bros. has given out what we consider a little good news-bad news type of information for fans of its DC characters.

First, the bad news – Warner Bros. will not be in Hall H at Comic-Con this year, meaning no new footage from highly anticipated films like Wonder Woman 1984, Birds of Prey, Joker and Godzilla vs. Kong.

IT: Chapter 2, however, will have a presence at the convention as part of WB/New Line’s annual ScareDiego night.

Finally, some good news; While Wonder Woman won’t be there in person, director, Patty Jenkins help ease the effect of the bad news by releasing a brand new poster for the sequel.

By now you’ve heard: WB isn’t going to Hall H this year,” she tweets. “We’re so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official #WW84 campaign in full– But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait…

The new image shows Gadot’s superhero rocking a new, gold suit of armour, as she’s surrounded by some insanely bright, ’80s colours. It was designed to be a ceremonial armour crafted by Pallas, an Amazonian armourer, for Diana specifically, and imbued with supernatural durability.

The lead character, Gal Gadot also shared the same photo and message on her Instagram page, writing:

Although all of us at Warner Brothers won’t be seeing you at SDCC – Hall H this year. We are so excited for what’s to come. So until then here’s a little gift from us to you…

Wonder Woman 1984 is intended to be a sequel to the 2017’s Wonder Woman and is the ninth instalment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Patty Jenkins, who wrote it with Geoff Johns and David Callaham from a story written by Johns and Jenkins.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit the cinemas on 5 June 2020.
