Angelina Jolie has admitted that her life these “last few years haven’t been the easiest” and has left her feeling “not very strong.“
Fortunately, her upcoming roles in Eternals and Maleficent has given her a much-needed boost.
The 44-year-old underwent a preventive surgery in 2015 to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes after a cancer scare and in September 2016, split from ex-husband Brad Pitt after two years of marriage and 12 years together. Their messy divorce has still not been finalised.
The actress was at Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday night, to promote sequel Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil and her anticipated role as Thena in Marvel’s Eternals, where E! News Online caught up with her.
She admitted to E! News that she hasn’t always felt strong during this time.
“I’m like everybody and… especially these last few years haven’t been the easiest, and I haven’t felt very strong. There’s something when you’re not feeling very strong, where you push yourself,” says her to E! News.
However, the actress insisted that the training she is doing for her role as Thena in the new Marvel movie The Eternals’ is helping her to push herself to be strong.
She explains: “Sometimes you really feel low and you gotta pull it back up. Right now, for Thena, I’m having to do so much training and she’s so positive, so healthy and she’s so aggressive that I’m often like, ‘This is not gonna work.’ But, you gotta push yourself’.
