A man who has been identified as Ganji Siva was named the culprit of the attack and has been taken into the police custody of the City of Visakhapatnam.
The incident happened in the Bay of Bengal in a very populated city that is known for its very busy vicinities and the area which the rape occurred was no different.
But sadly while Ganji Siva attacked the woman and forcefully had his way with her, people went about their normal businesses and the ones that seemed to notice, only stopped to film the ongoing abuse of the young woman, whose name is withheld for witness protection and to avoid stigmatization.
The police sub-inspector reported that after finding out from the victim, she had left home after an argument with her husband and must have been very weak after not eating for many hours. She had been resting under a tree when the attacker came for her and despite trying to call for help, no one came to her aid.
Ganji Siva currently awaits trial in police custody after video footages helped them identify him.
