Horror film “A Quiet Place 2” snatched the top spot from colleague “Conjuring 3” in this weekend’s international box office with “Cruella”, “In the Heights”, and “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” completing the top 5.
Continuing its impressive theatrical outing, “A Quiet Place Part II” made $11.6 million between 11-13 June 2021. Paramount managed to get it to show in 3,515 cinemas this weekend, and the number of locations it was screening in likely helped its performance, when compared to competitors.
American musical drama film “In the Heights” comes second with $11.4 million amassed from 3,456 cinemas. Considering that this is its debut weekend, the number is not as encouraging as it should be. The makers, Warner Bros. projected an earning of $25-$35 million.

While WB may be disappointed with their film’s performance, Sony will be in a jubilant mood this weekend. Its 3D live-action/computer-animated film “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” surpassed earnings expectations and made it into the international box office. The company that had predicted an $8–10 million debut will be grinning as their film slightly crawled past the margin to earn $10.4 million.
