Uncharted, Death on the Nile, The Secret of Lulu, Peacemaker, and other must-see movies, web shows, and TV series this weekend.
What’s a weekend without a watchlist?, this week we are back again with our watchlist list for the third weekend in February ranging from movies showing in cinemas, what you can watch on the web and what and what is new on streaming platforms.
Below is a list of everything that should be on your watchlist this weekend.
10. Uncharted
Based on a video game of the same name, Uncharted hit cinemas across the world on Thursday, 17 February 2022. Heavily inspired by the video game, the movie explores the action-adventure story of Nathan Drake, a fortune hunter, alongside his mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan, as they team up together to go on a circumnavigation for the Magellan expedition. The movie is directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Tom Holland in the lead role as well as Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas. An original motion Picture Soundtrack for the movie is scheduled to be released on 25 February 2022; the 22 soundtracks are composed by Ramin Djawadi, who recently composed the Marvel Eternals soundtrack.
9. Death on the Nile
The Observer called it an “unnecessary remake” of the 1978 movie of the same name, and it has already been banned in countries like Lebanon and Kuwait. Meanwhile, Deadline reports that these recent revelations only make the movie more appealing. I mean, who doesn’t want to see a movie with such controversy surrounding it? Death on the Nile is a 2022 remake of the 1978 film version of Dame Agatha Christie’s book of the same title. It stars Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Russell Brand (Despicable Me 2), Tom Bateman (Murder on the Orient Express) amongst Ali Fazal, Emma Mackey, Armie Hammer, and Jennifer Saunder. The movie shares several similarities as the murder/mystery plot to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, also based on a Christie thriller.

8. Marry me
I remember how unimpressed I was when the 3-minute long trailer to this movie dropped back in November 2021. I couldn’t decide whether it was Jennifer Lopez attempting to sing or the underwhelming acting I got to see a glimpse of that irked me. Marry Me is another rom-com targeted at this year’s Valentine’s Day celebration, currently showing in cinemas and available on the streaming platform Peacock. The hour-long movie follows the story of Kat Valdez, described as a pop superstar (played by Jennifer Lopez). After one of her songs became popular at wedding ceremonies, she and her fiancé decided to host their wedding in front of a streaming audience at a concert. Unfortunately, news of Kat’s fiancé’s infidelity leaks, making her reconsider her decision to marry him. To not feel jilted, she reluctantly agrees to marry one of her fans at the concert. This movie has such a crazy storyline, and I cant wait to see how it all plays out at the end. Owen Wilson, Maluma, John Bradley, Sarah Silverman, and Chloe Coleman also star in this rom-com.
7. Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy
Kanye West has been on everybody’s lip these past few weeks; he continues to diss Pete Davidson and has broken up with his girlfriend Julia Fox after dating for a few months following his divorce from Kim Kardashian, who he’s clearly not over yet. On Valentine’s Day, the 44-year-old rapper delivered a truck full of roses to her sharing the picture on Instagram. On Thursday, 16 February 2022, his Netflix Documentary became available on the streaming platform. It explores his early life, music career, relationship with his deceased mother, and more. The documentary is split into three parts, with the first episode streaming a week before the second and two weeks before the third.
6. Texas Chain Massacre
If you are a huge fan of slasher and horror movies, I come bearing good news. The popular Texas Chain Massacre franchise is back. The recent sequel came out on 18 February 2022 on Netflix. This new release happens years after the first movie premiered in 1974, and it tells the story of Melody, an entrepreneur alongside her sister who visits a small town called Harlow, an area in Texas. Their visit awakens the deadly Leatherface, and he starts a killing spree. The Netflix flick is directed by David Blue Garcia and stars Sarah Yarkin, Elsie Fisher, Mark Burnham, Jacob Latimore, Moe Dunford, Nell Hudson, and others.

The action-packed thriller movie revolves around the story of Travis Block, an FBI agent who gets involved in a government conspiracy.
