17- The Wheel of Time [2021]
The Wheel of Time is an Amazon Prime original series that premiered on the streaming platform on November 19, 2021. It stars Gone Girl and I Care A Lot; actresses Rosamund Pike in the lead role. The fantasy series tells the story of a powerful organization of women who can channel an elemental ‘Force’ called the One Power. Pike played the character of Moiraine, who goes on a hunt for the reincarnation of a Dragon alongside her warder and Companion, Lan, played by Daniel Henny. With Rosamund Pike and Daniel Henny, the series also stars Zoe Robins, Madeleine Madden, Josha Stradowski, Kate Fleetwood, and Priyanka Bose. The fantasy series currently has two seasons streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
16- Mozart in the Jungle [2014 – 2018]
Mozart in the Jungle is a 2014 comedy-drama set in the New York classical music scene; the series charmingly reveals an edgier side to the World of strings, sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll. Its lead character is an upcoming oboist name Hailey Rutledge, played by American actresses and Singer-Songwriter Lola Kirke. Hailey finds herself paired with the eccentric conductor Rodrigo, played by Gael Garcia Bernal, who is tasked with rejuvenating the New York symphony. Mozart in the Jungle also stars Bernadette Peters, Malcolm McDowell, Saffron Burrows, Hannah Dunne, and Peter Vack; the series was canceled in 2018. Still, all its four-season are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

15- A Very English Scandal [2018 – 2021]
A Very English Scandal is a British historical/comedy-drama that dramatizes the 1976-1979 scandal of the Liberal member of Parliament Jeremy Thorpe. More than 15 years leading to the event, the series explores murder conspiracy, big trials, and media scrutiny. The three-episode series is written by Russell T Davies and is based on the novel by John Preston, and the series stars Hugh Grant in the lead role of Jeremy Thorpe. Other stars in the series are Ben Whishaw, Alex Jennings, Patricia Hodge, etc. All three episodes of the series are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
14- Homecoming [2018 – ]
Based on a podcast of the same name, the physiological thriller drama premiered in 2018 and narrated the story of a social worker name Heidi Bergman employed to work at a secret government facility called the Homecoming Transitional Support Center. After four years, she starts a new life working as a waitress, but she’s having difficulty forgetting the time she spent at the transitional support center; as the series unfolds, Heidi comes to realize she has been misled about the truth of the Support Center. Homecoming stars Julia Roberts, Janelle Monae, Bobby Cannavale, Stephan James, Sissy Spacek, Hong Chau, Chris Cooper, Shea Whigham, Alex Karpovsky, and Joan Cusack.
13- Hanna [2019 – ]
Another series worth checking out from Amazon Prime is the action thriller Hanna. The series is based on the 2011 movie of the same name. Hanna is scheduled to end after three seasons. In the series, the lead character Hanna is a 15-years old girl living with a man named Erik, the only man she has ever known as a father. Both of them live in a remote part of a forest in Poland. However, both of them face a threat from a CIA on-site agent who is out to kill Hannah. Esme Creed-Miles plays the character of Hanna, Joel Kinnaman plays the role of Erik. Other cast members include Mireille Enos, Noah Taylor, Dermot Mulroney, and Ray Liotta.
12- Upload [2020 – ]
Upload is set in the near future; in the sci-fi comedy, humans can upload themselves into a virtual afterlife. Nathan, a computer programmer, played by Robbie Amell, finds himself pressed with that choice after a self-driving car accident and decides to upload to cozy, expensive Lake View. Though imperfect, Upload, which is part satire, part romance, and part murder mystery, is easy to consume. Plus, a second season arrived on March 11. Upload is created by Greg Daniels and stars Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson, and Kevin Bigley. The series premiered in May 2020 and currently has two seasons available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
11- With Love [2021 – ]
A feel-good rom-com. With Love depicts the life of the Diaz siblings, Lily and Jorge, as they navigate various holidays across the year, from Halloween to Christmas. Major holidays put pressure on single people in search of romantic relationships. The series follows the Diaz on their journey and their delightful and sometimes awkward extended family. With Love features appearances from Emeraude Toubia, Mark Indelicato, Isis King, Vincent Rodriguez, Rome Flynn, and Desmond Chiam.
10- The Pursuit of Love [2021]
The Pursuit of Love is a three-episode miniseries that premiered in 2021. The series tells the story of two cousins who depict different ways of life. Linda Radlett is an animated character whose romantic adventures see her travel from London to Paris. At the same time, Fanny Logan is a character navigating the ups and downs of married life. This miniseries will sweep you up into a story of happiness and sadness, laughter and pain. English actress Lily James plays the character of Linda Radlett, while Emily Beecham plays Fanny Logan. Other actors in the miniseries are Andrew Scott, Dominic West, Dolly Wells, John Hefferman, and Beattie Edmondson.
Another rom-com series with an anthology twist, the series is based on the weekly column of the same name, published by The New York Times. The series explores the theme of Love in various forms, which include sexually, romantically, familiarly, platonically, and lastly self, love. The overall premise of the series is overly maudlin but in an excellent way. Modern Love has had appearances from Game of Thrones Kit Harrington, Anne Hathaway, Ed Sheeran, Tina Fey, Tom Burke, Shea Whigham, Julia Garner, and Sophie Okonedo.
8- The Underground Railroad [2021]
The Underground Railroad is a fantasy historical drama miniseries created by Barry Jenkins; it tells the fictional story of people attempting to escape slavery in the southern United States during the 1800s; the series applies a key plot element using magic realism. In real life, ‘The Underground Railroad’ is a network of abolitionists, hidden routes, and safe houses that helped enslaved African-Americans escape to freedom in the early-mid-1800s. Cora is an enslaved woman from Georgia who joins newcomer Caesar to ride the underground train to freedom in the television series. The miniseries stars Thuso Mbedu, Chase W. Dillion, Joel Edgerton, Fred Hechinger, Peter Mullan, Sheila Atim, Lily Rabe, and Mychal-Bella Bowman.
7- The Wilds [2020 – ]
The Wilds is Amazon’s first original young adult series. It draws similarities between Lost and The Breakfast Club. In The Wilds, a group of teenage girls, namely Fatin Jadmani, Dot Campbell, Martha Blackburn, Rachel Reid, Shelby Goodkind, Nora Reid, Toni Shalifoe, and Leah Rilke, gets stranded on a deserted island after surviving a plane crash while on a retreat trip to Hawaii. Each character comes from a very different background, and they must put their differences aside to survive; by learning a thing or two about themselves on the way, the plot even gets darker and more thrilling when Gretchen Klein, a new character, comes in into the picture. Executive producers for The Wilds are Jamie Tarses, Susanna Fogel, Amy B. Harris, and Joh Polson. While Sophia Ali, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, Shannon Berry, and Mia Healey stars in the television series.
6- The Terror [2018 – ]
The Terror is another anthology series from Amazon Prime Video; the series explores the horror of Japanese folklore and follows who are heading into uncharted and dangerous territory; the first part of the anthology series revolved around the Royal Navy’s polar explorer ships HMS Erebus and HMS Terror heading towards King William Island. However, the ships get frozen and trapped in the ice, and those aboard must survive the harsh weather conditions and each other while being stalked by an elusive menace. The second season titled ‘Infamy’ its storyline shifts entirely from the plot of the first season, and it takes place on the west coast of the United States during World War II; it further explored the Japanese folklore of ‘Bakemono’ described as an uncanny specter that menaces a Japanese American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific. Across the two various seasons, the series has featured appearances from stars like Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies, Paul Ready, Derek Mio, Kiki Sukezane, and Cristina Rodlo. The Terror is a thrilling, prestige horror series.
5- Bosch [2014 – 2021]
Bosch ran for seven consecutive seasons; the American Procedural series follows the story of Los Angeles Police detective Harry Bosch, who is haunted by the death of his mother; as he works to catch serial killers while also keeping his family safe, he investigates the murder of his mother. The series provides steady mystery with an equally steady lead. With the completion of the seventh series, a spin-off has been announced to be in work at Amazon, and Titus Welliver, who portrayed Bosch, will reprise his role in the spin-off series. Alongside Titus Welliver, Bosch also stars Jamie Hector, Amy Aquino, Lance Reddick, Annie Wersching, Sarah Clarke, Jeri Ryan, Brent Sexton, and many others.
4- Tales from the Loop [2020 – ]
Set in the fictional town of Mercer, Ohio, Tales from the Loop is a science fiction drama that follows the interconnected lives of the resident living in the small town. Tales from the Loop has a lot more underneath the surface. The series is based on an art book by Swedish artist Simon Stalenhag and developed into a series by Nathaniel Halpern and explores the theme of loneliness, aging, and the impact of technology through sci-fi ideas. Tales from the Loop stars Rebecca Hall, Abby Ryder Fortson, Paul Schneider, Emjay Anthony, Duncan Joiner, Shane Carruth, Daniel Zolghadri, and Jonathan Pryce.
3- Orphan Black [2013 – 2017]
Orphan Black is a 5 season Canadian science-fiction thriller that sews imaginative sci-fi concepts into a fast-paced thriller; the series follows the character of Sarah Manning, who is a British con artist living in Toronto. After witnessing the suicide of a woman named Beth Childs, who appears to be her doppelganger, she assumes the identity and occupation of Beth, who is a police detective. Sarah also discovers that she’s a clone and has many sisters as the series progresses. Orphan Black also adds comic to its somewhat serious storyline. The series stars Tatiana Maslany in the lead role with appearances from Dylan Bruce, Jordan Gavaris, Kevin Hanchard, Michael Mando, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Evelyne Brochu, and others.
2- Reacher [2022 – ]
A few days after the first season premiered on Amazon Prime, the series got renewed for a second season. Reacher is a crime thriller drama that follows Jack Reacher, a former U.S Army military policeman who visits the fictional rural town of Margrave, Georgia, and immediately becomes intertwined in a violent clash with a brutal conspiracy. The series is adapted from the British author Lee Child’s best-selling Jack Reacher book series. Alan Ritchson plays the character of Jack Reacher. Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Bruce McGill, and Maria Sten also stars in the thriller series.
1- The Boys Present: Diabolical [2022 – ]
The Boys Present; Diabolical is a spin-off of The Boys series, premiered in 2019. The new spin-off is a superhero animated anthology with eight episodes in its first season; stand-up comedian Seth Rogan serves as one of the executive’s producers for the first season. The series takes a playful approach to superpowered and adult-oriented adventures, the typical theme of over-the-top violence and social commentary that preceded the original The Boys series. The series features appearances from Frances Conroy, Grey Griffins, Kevin Smith, Kenan Thompson, Caleb McLaughlin, Andy Samberg, Antony Starr, Kenan Thompson, Dominique McElligott, Gary Anthony Williams. Also, the eight short episodes in the first season are written by comedians Seth Rogan, an executive producer, Andy Samberg, Justin Roiland, Ilana Glazer, actress Awkwafina, Garth Ennis Aisha Tyler, and Simon Racioppa.
