Unidentified man who accused Kevin Spacey of sexual abuse dies

An unnamed accuser who said he was sexually molested by Hollywood’s Kevin Spacey is dead.

His cause of death has not been revealed.

The man, who was a massage therapist, claimed he was groped by the actor at a house in Malibu, California, three years ago. He was ordered by the court to make himself known to Spacey’s legal theme, although his identity continues to be protected to the public.

Identified only as John Doe, the therapist in September 2018 sued Spacey for sexual battery, gender violence, battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment. Allegations, which Spacey denies.

His lawyer, Genie Harrison, in a statement described his death as untimely.

“His untimely death was, to his family, a devastating shock that they are struggling to process and is so recent that they have not yet held his funeral service,” says Harrison.

The statement also describes the accuser as a “dignified, kind, middle-aged man” who was left “traumatised” by the alleged attack.

Meanwhile, Spacey’s team has notified the court of John Doe’s death, which triggered a 90-day countdown for his estate to be substituted for John Doe.

“Filing the notice yesterday was unnecessary and contemptible. I’m not surprised, however, that Spacey prematurely filed the notice in an attempt to gain the advantage of a ticking clock,” says Harrison of the to the Associated Press.

“Mr Doe’s family must now open his estate at the same time as planning a funeral and processing their grief.

“His fight for justice is still very much alive.”

Kevin Spacey is facing multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. Earlier this year, prosecutors in Massachusetts dropped a criminal sexual assault case after the accuser refused to testify about a missing phone, which the defence said could have proved the actor’s innocence.

The actor was seen for the first time in public last month during a poetry reading event in Rome.
