Following the announcement, Burna Boy took to his Instagram stories to express his displeasure at the way his name was written. He complained that he is an African Giant and as such, his name should not have been written “so small” in the flier.

In another Instagram Stories post, the Gbona singer later clarified that his reaction was not from “a place of pride or any sense of entitlement”, but from his “vision of Africa, not just African music.”

Now Burna Boy is demanding Coachella respect him by making his name more visible on their publicity materials. We all have different opinions about this, but when African acts start getting same big font size as foreign acts, remember that someone fought that battle. Selah
