Lionel Messi refused to shake the hands of the referee in charge of Barcelona’s game against Girona.

The superstar was frustrated by some of the choices the referee made during the course of the game such as a red card awarded to Barca defender Clément Lenglet after the use of VAR.

Messi opened the scoring in the 19th minute of the game but Girona’s Stuani equalised ten minutes after a very controversial red card was given to Lenglet in the 35th minute of the game.

Stuani again found the back of the net in the second half, putting Barcelona in panic mode until Gerard Pique was able to head home an equaliser in the 63rd minute.

Barcelona players were obviously not satisfied with the officiating and Messi made it clear by refusing to shake hands with referee Gil Manzano after the game.
