Adding too much salt in a meal could happen to the best of us.

Once you notice your food is salty all you need to do is wash and peel off the skin of a potato. Then cut the potato into two and add it to the over-salted food.

The potatoes should remain in the food for about 10 minutes after which it would have absorbed the excess salt from the food.

Alternatively, you can add a little sugar to the food. While this will not reduce the salt in the food, it will balance out the sodium

For over-salted soups or sauces, a little sour cream, brown sugar, or vinegar can help balance the saltiness. Use your best judgement based on the flavor of the sauce and start with a small amount and add more as needed
