Kenyan socialite and ex-big brother Africa housemate Huddah Monroe have some things to say about parenting in Africa and some of the expectations that some parents place on their children, especially on their teenage daughters.

The controversial socialite who recently called on Africans to boycott Nigerian music bared her mind on the issue via a series of Snapchat posts where she equates being born to Africa parents to slavery. According to her, a lot of parents put pressure on their teenage daughters to bring money home not caring how their daughters got the money.

She calls for a change in an orientation where parents expect that it is the responsibility of children to provide for the family saying children can help “where they can and leave the rest to God.”

Meanwhile, the social media personality was full of praise for her own mother who she calls “the greatest mom ever” and who she says “guides” her thinking.
