Beyonce’s efforts to trademark her daughter’s name, Blue Ivy Carter continue to face opposition, TMZ reports. Beyonce reportedly wants the use of the name for cosmetics and video games, phone accessories. However, an event company also called Blue Ivy is seeking to block the realisation of that aspiration. The company, it is said, has been in existence three years before Beyonce gave birth to Blue Ivy. Earlier attempts by Beyonce to trademark the name had also been frustrated.
This is not the first time a celebrity’s bid to trademark a name has met with some resistance. In February, Kylie Jenner, of the Jenner-Kardashian clan similarly lost a court battle to trademark her name. Jenner had hoped to use the brand name “Kylie” for her fashion and beauty line but the move was opposed by Australia singer and songwriter, Kylie Minogue.
