The music superstar, who is of Senegalese descent took to his Instagram page to share a progress report, alongside a picture from the super important meeting.
He shared that he just finalized the agreement for Akon City in Senegal.
He wrote: “Just finalized the agreement for AKON CITY in Senegal. Looking forward to hosting you there in the future”

In an earlier interview with Nick Cannon, Akon shared much more about the project, including that he expects to complete it in 10 years.
“It’s a 10-year building block so we’re doing it in stages,” he said at the time. “We started construction in March and stage two is going to be 2025.”
According to the singer, the city will have its own airport, will be built using his cryptocurrency, AKoin, and will run on renewable energy sources.
