Nigerian footballer Akpan Udoh contracts Coronavirus in Italy

Nigerian-Italian football player King Paul Akpan Udoh has become the first footballer to be infected with the Coronavirus.

Recently, Nigeria also recorded her first case of the coronavirus. The Ministry of Health, through the minister of the ministry, Dr Osagie Ehanire, confirmed that a positive test for the virus was confirmed in an Italy national who works in Nigeria.

According to the statement released, the man arrived in Nigeria on 25 February and was found to be positive on 27 February at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

28 people who were deemed to have been in contact with the man at his place of work in Ogun State were also placed under quarantine.

King Paul Akpan Udoh was diagnosed with the disease on February 27 and has been quarantined in Italy, the European country with the highest number of reported cases.

Italian journalists say the former Juventus player probably got infected during a trip to Tuscany to visit his parents.
