Nigerian highlife duo Umu Obiligbo finally gets deserved recognition as they win Best African Group award at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) on Sunday 15th November 2020.
Umu Obiligbo is an indigenous music group made up of two siblings, Okpuozor and Akunwafor Obiligbo. They are arguably the best group in Nigeria at what they do – churning out groovy highlife music.
At the 2020 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), the group won the Best African Group award. The award was held as a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, this did not stop it from being a thrilling festival of music, art and dance.
