Buju has a story to tell on new release 'Outside'

Just a week ago one of the finest collaborative efforts of 2021 so far, Ladipoe’s ‘Feeling’ featuring Buju. Before the release of the song there was controversy over the future of Buju at Bose Ogulu’s Spaceship Records.

Unconfirmed reports suggests Buju had some issues with the label owners regarding his creative freedom, promotion, and releases.

In the past year, Buju has released only a handful of songs for someone with his range of talents. He had his hit song “Lenu” remixed by Burna Boy as soon as he joined the label and also dropped “So Lovely” a couple of months ago.

He’s also featured on a handful of songs in the same time frame, Bling by Blaqbonez among the latest ones, but Buju seems to want more for his career.

“Outside” his solo debut of the year seems to be hinting at some things we could only speculate over.

Buju, on the first verse, explained that lack of funds can really ruin a good idea while also admonishing himself for making some mistakes early on in his career but says he’s better off than before.

This track is solemn but it carries a heavy message that’s been weighing on his mind. Hopefully, he can scale this hurdle and give us more songs in the coming future.
