Gal Gadot reveals her initial career plans had nothing to do with acting

Gal Gadot, who plays the fictional character of Diana Prince in “Wonder Woman”, has revealed that she had been on her way to becoming a lawyer before she found acting.

Gal Gadot has always had stunning looks and was crowned Miss Israel in 2004 at the age of 18. However, while she still engaged in modelling gigs; she never planned on going into the film industry.

Instead, she revealed that she was studying for a degree in Law before she found acting, or it found her. During an interview on The Graham Norton Show, she said;

“A casting director came from London to Israel looking for a ‘Bond’ girl, saw my card on the agency board and wanted to see me.

“That was my first experience in the acting world, and I sort of fell in love with it. One thing led to another and here I am.”

In fact, Gadot had lost the audition to play the part of Camille Montes in the James Bond film “Quantum of Solace”. Yet, she had already seen acting and was not letting it go.

She starred in her first official film in 2008, an Israeli film titled “Bubot”. Then, the casting director that had initially not picked her to be the ‘Bond Girl’ in “Quantum of Solace” chose her for the role of Gisele Yashar in the 2009 action film “Fast & Furious”.

After this initial start, she had small roles in the action-comedy Date Night and the action-adventure comedy Knight and Day.

Then, she returned for Fast Five (2011) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013). In 2016, she played Wonder Woman in the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. Since then, she has played the role of Dian Prince in Wonder Woman.

Gal Gadot, who never thought she would be a star has received swordsmanship, Kung Fu, kickboxing, capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu training for her roles.

“It was everything we hoped for and more,” she said about her Wonder Woman role. Gadot has two daughters with her husband Yaron Varsano.
