Game of Thrones star Brenock O’Connor received death threats for killing Jon Snow

The English actor Brenock O’Connor who played Olly on the HBO fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, told The Sun he received death threats over his character’s action.

According to Brenock O’Connor: “I woke up and I had a tweet from a random guy in America – and it hadn’t even come out in England because it was aired the night before in America – and it was, ‘I’m going to murder you and your family and rape their corpses and feed it to my dogs‘”

I was 15 at the time and was like ‘OK, so that’s out there.'” But you’ve just got to take it because you’ve done a believable job. Pat yourself on the back. You’ve just got to let skim over you – it’s not real.”

On the show, the now-18-year-old played an orphaned child whose parents were murdered by marauding Wildlings, who is taken under the wing of Nights Watch Lord, Commander Jon Snow (Kit Harington), eventually becoming his personal steward.

In a heart-wrenching and shocking final scene of the season 5 finale, Olly lures his mentor outside after claiming his long-lost uncle had returned. But all Snow finds is a sign reading traitor before mutineers – furious at him for uniting with the Wildlings – they take turns stabbing him, with Olly himself administering the final blow.

The 8th and final season of Game Of Thrones is set to air in 2019.
