‘Anyone who justifies rape will be arrested’ – NAPTIP boss

The Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has announced that anyone who is caught justifying rape will be arrested and treated as a suspect.

The DG, Julie Okah-Donli made the announcement on 10 June during a press conference to address the increase of rape cases in the country.

The DG, who insisted that there is no reason for rape, asked men who blame indecent dressing for rape a sarcastic question during the conference.

She asked why they call a naked man a mad man and run away and why they don’t do that when they see a naked woman.

This is coming only a few days after the DG also announced Nigeria’s sex offender registry which will contain the names of convicted sex offenders.
