Watership Down is an adaptation of the Richard Adams classic. The movie tells the story of a colony of rabbits escaping their beloved habitat due to human invasion and destruction.
John Boyega voices Bigwig, a stubborn yet brave rabbit whose strength and character sees him as the muscle of the escapee group.
Watership Down was previously adapted in 1978, a cartoon that left many of its viewers scarred by the unprecedented violence depicted.
Speaking with The Telegraph, the executive producer, Rory Aitken, iterated their desire to remake the classic tale, saying: “It’s not a terrifying, brutal story. I think that in a way we want to restore the reputation that the book should have as one of the great adventure stories of all time.”
