It’s our first Trailer Thursday this year, and we think it’s fitting that our first film is Robert Downey Junior’s return to film since his exit from Iron Man.
Dolittle is a remake of the popular original film, Dr Dolittle which was first made in 1998. It starred Eddie Murphy in its titular role. Before that was the original Dr Dolittle film which was made as a musical in 1967.

The films are based on the book series of the same name by Hugh Lofting, although the film does not follow the sequence of events as the book.
Now, there is the newest version – the 2019 remake of the film which stars Robert Downey Junior in the titular role. The film also stars Antonio Banderas and Michael Sheen in live-action roles; the voice cast includes Emma Thompson, Rami Malek, John Cena, Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer, Tom Holland, Craig Robinson, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez and Marion Cotillard.

Unlike other remakes of the film, this one is set in 19th century England and directly involves Queen Victoria.
The premise of the film is: “After his wife’s death seven years before, the eccentric John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian in Victorian England, becomes a hermit, hiding himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor, with only his menagerie of animals for company.
