The teaser trailer — which is just a clip of a scene from the old movie — was watched more than 224.6 million times globally in its first 24 hours.
It is only the second most watched Disney trailer after Avenger: Infinity War which amassed 238 million views in the same time.
Disney released the trailer on Thursday to whet the fans appetite and get anticipation going in time for the film’s release.
The movie is set to be released on the 19th of July, 2019.
