Rooney picks Messi over Ronaldo as "the greatest ever"

Wayne Rooney has never been the type of person to be scared to share his opinions.

This time, Rooney has said that he thinks that in his eyes Barcelona star Lionel Messi is better than his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo and Rooney won three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup together between 2004-2009, but all that doesn’t seem to have influenced Rooney’s opinion in terms of who he thinks is a greater player between football’s greatest ever rivals.

Appearing on the “pardon my take podcast” the newly signed DC United striker said:

“Yeah, I think I’ve said this before, but they’re both probably the best two players to ever play the game.

“I just think Messi is, in my eyes, the greatest ever.”

Ronaldo has the chance to prove his worth to the World now that he has taken on another challenge by joining the Italian Serie A. However at the end of the day Messi fans will always be Messi fans and Ronaldo fans will remain Ronaldo fans.

It is impossible to convince a fan of one that the other is better.
