Nigerian fighter Kamaru Usman was teary-eyed as he was crowned the new welterweight champion at the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC).

Usman won the title after he defeated the former champion, Tyron Woodley, in the mixed martial arts fight held in Las Vegas, U.S, on Saturday night.

In a remark, the new champion gave a moving tribute to Woodley, saying his name has to be mentioned in the history of the tourney as one of the greatest.

Usman also shared the moment with his daughter and mother.
