A former speaker of the House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole married Aisha Shinkafi Saidu on Saturday, 16 January 2021 at a low-key wedding ceremony in Abuja where BBNaija’s Laycon thrilled guests at the event.
Dimeji Bankole had divorced his first wife Olaitan in 2017 making him one of the most sought-after bachelors in Nigeria. Now, he is officially off the market.
Bankole’s new wife, Aisha Shinkafi Saidu is a stepdaughter of Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu. Her mother is the sister to the former Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Aliyu Shinkafi.
In line with Islamic beliefs and traditional rites, the two families had held an equally quiet introduction ceremony in Abeokuta, at the Bankole family house.
Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, had taken on the role of introducing the groom’s family to the bride’s. The strong political families chose to avoid a large ceremony that will attract a crowd and break COVID-19 regulations.
