HBO's Game of Thrones to arrive later than expected

Huff Post has reported that the 8th season Game of Thrones may not arrive until the second half of 2019.
Joe Bauer, the HBO show’s visual effects supervisor, told the news outlet that the visual effects won’t be done until May 2019.
During his interview, Bauer commented that the season would be eligible for the 2020 Emmy Awards, suggesting that the series could release after May 31 2019. “In two years we’ll be eligible for the Season 8 work… which we’re just beginning now,” he says.

For a film series to qualify for the 2019 Emmy Awards, it has to air between June 1, 2018, and May 31 2019.
