In the wake of an apparent drug overdose which led to the cancellation of 2 public appearances, Demi Lovato‘s team has released an official statement.
According to Variety, the singer’s representative denied claims that the substance she overdosed on was h*roin.
“Demi is awake and with her family who wants to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support.
“Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now,” the representative revealed.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ, that Lovato, who was found unconscious, was treated with Narcan – a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose – at her home before being transported to a local hospital. A source close to Lovato also denies h*roin as the cause.
On June 21st, the songstress released a single, Sober, in which she opened up about her relapse, hinting that she might have broken her 6 years’ sobriety.
