Nigerian actress Uchenna Nnanna-Maduka has taken to her Instagram account to lament about not being able to celebrate the Good Friday as she would.

According to her, every year, she gets to act as Holy Mary, the mother of Christ for the Passion of Christ drama. However, this year, she wouldn’t be able to do so due to the lockdown order in the state. The lockdown is in place to help curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, which is popularly known as coronavirus.

So, she urges her fans and everyone to pray for the pandemic to give way and for the world to be healed.

Taking to her Instagram page, she shared pictures that look like pictures taken from last year’s drama.

Today is GOOD FRIDAY. Normally I would have been backstage getting ready to once again act as Holy Mary the mother of Christ for the Passion of Christ drama. The day reminds us of how our salvation was paid for over 2000 years ago.

This use to be a yearly ritual in my Parish. But this year the COVID-19 Pandemic will not let us have it. But nevertheless, it has never been about acting. It’s been about the lessons it keeps teaching us.

So today in a very special way, let us pray that this pandemic which has crumbled the world should give way. Let the blood of Jesus that died for us on the cross heal our land and save us from this panic and anxiety and grant us His peace which surpasses all human understanding.”
