Beyonce is the first black woman to headline Coachella in Indio California, after cancelling last year due to pregnancy.
As promised, it was a spectacle for the ages, including a tribute to Fela, performance with Chimamanda, a surprise appearance from Jay-Z, a Solange dance-off, a Destiny’s Child reunion.
Beyoncé reunited Destiny’s Child at Coachella 2018. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a three-song medley – Lose My Breath, Say My Name, and Soldier.
Despite having a backing crew of 100 dancers, Beyoncé had room for one more: Solange. Her sister joined Bey for a dance-off during the extended version of “Get Me Bodied” to show them how it’s done.
Beyonce and her band played a beautiful sample of Fela Kuti’s instrumental as well as the performance of her song with Nigeria’s Chimamanda Adichie’s Flawless.
