Simeone claims that he was very confident that Griezmann would not leave Atletico despite the player himself confirming that it was a difficult decision to turn down Barcelona.
“I swear on my kids that I never saw us losing him,” he told El Partidazo de COPE .
“I never saw him at Barca. I always felt like he would stay.”
Simeone must have enormous faith in the 27-year-old’s love for Atletico for him to go as far as swearing on his kids but hey, at least in the end, he was right.
