Pippa and her husband, 42-year-old financier James Matthews, are said to have shared the news with close family and friends last week after their 12-week scan.
The baby is reportedly due in October.
A friend told the Sun that Pippa’s sister Kate was the first person to learn the news after Matthews. Kate is due to give birth to her third child in a matter of weeks.
Pippa and James were married in May last year, and Middleton was said to be excited to start a family.
James 28-year-old brother, Spencer Matthews, best known for starring in Made in Chelsea and I’m a Celebrity, is also expecting a baby with his 32-year-old fiancee, Vogue Williams.
The news comes after Pippa’ s father-in-law, David Matthews, age 74, is accused of raping a minor back in the 1990s. He was questioned in March by French police over an attack, said to have happened between 1998 and 1999, and placed under investigation by a magistrate.
This month, it was revealed a second woman had made similar claims against him, this time dating back to the 1980s.
He denies the allegations, labelling them “untrue and scandalous,” according the Sun.
