Doctor Cupid: How to get out of a new relationship

Let’s say that you meet a new person, go through the talking stage and finally decide that you will enter into a new relationship, then what?

The process of the ‘talking stage’ is to get to know someone and determine if they are the best person for you.

However, no matter how long you spend trying to get to know someone, sometimes, you never know the true range of the kind of person they are.

So, in case things go left, you will need to quickly exit such a relationship. So, here are five steps to speedily end a new relationship. Feel free to skip some steps at your discretion.

  1. End the relationship as soon as you can. Don’t wait for a ‘sign’ or anything that can make you change your mind. Once you are sure that this is the right thing to do, then do it.
  2. Endeavour to break up with them in person. This is the nicest thing to do. Of course, you don’t have to be nice. If you feel like seeing them might cause you to change your mind, you can call them or send a text message.
  3. Be very clear about the break so that no one is confused. Don’t leave any ribbon untied. Make it very clear that the relationship is over so that unpleasant things don’t crop up later.

Relationships are never easy to end, especially new ones. It can be hurtful and disappointing to find out that someone you thought you would get along with is not the one for you.

Don’t worry though, better things are on their way. Don’t forget to share your thoughts on this article in the comments section below.
