Nigerian superstar and Grammy award winner Burna Boy has once again made his fans proud with the music video for his song “23”. The video which dropped on 23 March 2021 pays homage to basketball legend Michael Jordan and also serves inspirational scenes along with aesthetically pleasing visuals as well.

American Idol contestant faints on stage
While encouragement can build a person’s character, criticism from one’s idols can sometimes be a downer. This was the case of American Idol contestant Funke Lagoke who fainted on stage after listening to Katy Perry and Lionel Richie trash her duet performance with fellow contestant Ronda Felton.
Thankfully, after the initial scare, Luke Bryan, the third judge, told viewers that she had busted her chin due to the fall but was okay. Lionel Richie also told Felton, who was bawling at the time, that they will both go through to the next round of the reality show.

The most watched show in Africa, the Big Brother Naija, has just made big announcements for its sixth season. The organisers opened early auditions on 24 March 2021 and revealed that only DSTV and GOTV users are eligible to be considered. Additionally, applicants must be 21 years old or older with the star prize pegged at 95 million Naira.
Kylie Jenner defends $5k donation
Twitter users dragged billionaire Kylie Jenner for donating only $5,000 (about 2 million Naira) to a makeup artist’s GoFundMe of $120,000 needed for medical bills. Their ire was that Kylie could have comfortably offset the bills but instead donated only a token and had the effrontery to ask others to support the cause. It forced the makeup mogul to put out a statement to clear her name.
Chrissy Teigen deletes Twitter account
Negativity on Twitter led model Chrissy Teigen to deactivate her Twitter account on 24 March 2021. In a lengthy thread that preceded the action, Teigen explained that the platform was becoming more negative than positive for her.
She was popular for her bants with her celebrity husband John Legend and also for her witty comebacks at trolls. However, she revealed that it has taken a toll on her over the years. She also hinted that the amount of carefulness needed to avoid offending people on Twitter was changing the person she was.
Trump to bring his own social media platform?
Twitter had permanently suspended Donald Trump after controversial tweets concerning the Capitol invasion on Wednesday, 6 January 2020. Now, Trump is making a comeback in a surprising manner; he is coming back with his own social media platform. This information came from a senior Trump advisor Jason Miller who said that it will go live in the next two or three months. For now, there are no additional details on what to expect.
Jack Dorsey tweet sells for $2.9 million
A Malaysia-based businessman Sina Estavi bought Jack Dorsey’s first-ever tweet for the equivalent of $2.9 million using the Ether cryptocurrency.

Lifetime to make third Harry and Meghan film in 2021
Cable channel Lifetime has announced that it is making a film about the estranged royal couple and it will be titled “Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace!”. This makes it the third film that the American company will be making about them with its previous ones being “A Royal Romance” (2018) and “Becoming Royal” (2019).

No host for Oscars this year
As part of precautions to protect nominees from COVID-19 infections, the 2021 Oscars will not have a host according to the latest details from producers. Instead, it will be held as a partially in-person live telecast event with high profile presenters giving out the awards “on a rotating basis”.

Bobby Brown Jr cause of death revealed
About four months after he died, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has released the results of American singer Bobby Brown’s son autopsy on Monday. According to the results, Bobby Brown Jr., died as a result of drug and alcohol toxicity. He was said to have snorted a Percocet and cocaine after consuming shots of tequila while with friends. The death was ruled “accidental” with no foul play involved.
Coronavirus updates in numbers
As of Friday, 26 March 2021, the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigeria was 162,388. 2,039 deaths have been reported while 149,986 patients have recovered and been discharged from isolation facilities across the country. This means that the number of active cases was 10,363.
