Linda Evangelista speaks about being deformed by cosmetic surgery

Supermodel Linda Evangelista has finally spoken up about being “permanently deformed” by a cosmetic surgery.

The Canadian model said she had developed paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) from a fat freezing treatment five years ago, which should have reduced her fat cells. Instead, the side effect of the treatment increased her fat cells.

The non-surgical cosmetic procedure, which has grown in popularity in recent years, is one that uses cold temperatures to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body.

On her Instagram page, Linda Evangelista wrote“Today I took a big step towards righting a wrong that I have suffered and have kept to myself for over five years. To my followers who have wondered why I have not been working while my peers’ careers have been thriving, the reason is that I was brutally disfigured by Zeltiq’s Coolsculpting procedure, which did the opposite of what it promised.”

Explaining further, she said she had undergone “two painful, unsuccessful, corrective surgeries” after the slimming procedure, also known as body contouring, had the opposite effect on her.

“I have been left, as the media has described, ‘unrecognisable’. I have developed Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia or PAH, a risk of which I was not made aware before I had the procedures. PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness, and the lowest depths of self-loathing. In the process, I have become a recluse,” She continued.

Her social media post didn’t end there as she suggested she would be suing the company she said was responsible. She wrote: “I’m so tired of living this way,” she continued. “I would like to walk out my door with my head held high, despite not looking like myself any longer.”
