AC Milan came back stronger to defeat Torino, after their first league loss of the season against Juventus in last week’s fixture as Inter Milan’s struggle continues.
AC Milan extend lead at the summit
Shaking off a game to forget against holding champions, AC Milan thumped Torino on Saturday, 9 January 2021 in a brutal contest that saw eight players booked by the center referee.
Sizzling hot forward Rafael Leao scored at the 25th-minute mark to put Milan ahead. Leao seems to have settled well into his role as the point man of the team in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Rebic.
The hosts doubled their lead as Franck Kessie converted from the spot. Despite going two goals down in the first period, Torino gave Milan a tough time reducing the hosts to adopting cynical tackles to break up the play.

Milan ended the game with six of their players getting booked for yellow cards but they also went away with a clean sheet and all three points.
Roma and Inter Milan play out a four-goal draw
Romelu Lukaku returned to the starting line-up for Inter Milan after their 2-1 loss at Sampdoria. Despite the Belgian’s presence, however, Inter could not find the win they so desperately seek to get back on track in Serie A contention. Lorenzo Pellegrini had put Roma in the lead in the 17th minute thanks to a ball from Mkhitaryan.

However, Inter Milan responded with two quickfire goals seven minutes from each other. Croatia’s Brozovic supplied the passes for both goals. First, Milan Skriniar leveled the scores before Achraf Hakimi put Inter ahead.
With four minutes of regular time left to play, Gianluca Mancini drew Roma back on level terms.

The draw places Inter three points behind rivals AC Milan who lead the pack. Roma is currently third with six points between them and the number one position.
Juventus continues rampage
Serie A champions Juventus continue their rampage with an emphatic win over a visiting Sassuolo side in the Serie A. The visitors were shocked after their good start was ruined by a Pedro Obiang red card just as the first half was about to end.
The Old Ladies punished their ten-man opponents as Danilo found the back of the net five minutes into the second period. Gregoire Defrel put Sassuolo back into the contest with his 58th-minute strike.
Juventus continued looking for ways to exploit their numerical advantage and the answer finally came in the 82nd minute when Aaron Ramsey guided Frabotta’s pass to him into the net.
Not one to be denied a spot on the score sheet, Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 90th minute. With this goal, Ronaldo tied Josef Bican for most official goals in football history at 759.
