Ben Murray Bruce who currently represents the Bayelsa East constituency of Bayelsa state, today took to twitter to reject the proposed increment in electric tariff that had been suggested by the Power Authorities in Nigeria for distribution companies.
He tweeted:
“I am vehemently against increment in electricity tariffs. My stand is that if we must increase tariffs, we must first increase minimum wage.”
Then he added:
“If minimum wage hasn’t gone up, why are we attempting to increase electricity tariffs by 61.5% when we haven’t even increased Nigeria’s GDP?”
