The owner of the world’s most expensive home, a French chateau sold for $300m in 2015, has been uncovered as Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Salman’s identity was kept hidden at the time behind a series of shell companies based in France and Luxembourg, the New York Times reports. The news outlet found that the companies are all owned by Eight Investment Company, a Saudi firm managed by the head of the prince’s personal foundation.
The palace, which features a wine cellar, home theatre, and moat filled with koi carp, has also been confirmed to belong to Salman by Advisers to the Saudi royal family.
