A grieving brother has narrated how he lost his brother following another display of brutality by a Nigerian policeman.
Twiter user MeetCheeta @MyCheta narrated the sad affair, which took place in the early hours of yesterday’s morning at about 5 am.
According to him, the police had stopped his brother, who was a commercial motorcyclist, also known as ‘Okada’. He said his brother did not notice in time that he was stopped by some policemen. One of them, therefore, hit the brother with a police batten causing the brother to lose control of his motorcycle. He subsequently fell into a nearby drainage system and died.
What senseless death! Isn’t it past time the issue of police brutality is addressed? Maybe the government is waiting until they kill all of us. No, we should rephrase that. Maybe the government is waiting until a policeman kills a high ranking government official or one of their near relatives. That could make them sit up, or maybe not.
A tragic state of affairs no matter what perspective you choose.
