Nigerians reject Lekki Tollgate reopening after Judicial Panel gives green light

The Lagos Judicial Panel has approved the reopening of the Lekki Tollgate after months of investigating the 20 October 2020 shooting.

There has been a long drawn out debate between the Lekki Concession Company (LCC), the operators of the Lekki Tollgate and the judicial panel. The LCC had requested to take back control of the toll plaza since December 2020 but the panel refused as an investigation was still going on.

On Saturday, 6 February 2020, news broke that the panel has now given the LCC permission to reopen the Lekki Tollgate. According to Ayobami on Twitter, here is how the panel voted on the matter:
