The palace released the photos via a series of tweets on Thursday.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen to release official photographs to mark their engagement,” the palace tweets.
Initially shared with fans are two portraits, a colour image and a grayscale one. Both images each show Megan’s engagement ring to advantage. The ring was designed by Prince Harry and has some diamonds from Harry’s late mum, Princess Diana’s collection.
The couple looks very happy in the pictures and very much in love.

The Palace shares a bonus photo (below) which they say was to thank everyone for their happy wishes.
“The photographs were taken by @alexilubo (Alexi Lubomirski) earlier this week at Frogmore House, Windsor,” the palace adds.
New York-based fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski was former assistant to Mario Testino, famed for his photos of Harry’s mother Princess Diana.
“I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together,” Lubomirski says.
The engaged couple are to wed on Saturday 19 November. Prince Harry, 33, is the fifth in line to the British throne while Markle, 36 is an American actress best known for her roles in the US TV legal drama Suits.
