Shocking photos show how a man staged his own murder – complete with fake bullet hole in his head – after discovering his wife had hired a hitman to kill him.
(Metro UK) – Boxing coach Ramon Sosa posed as a blood-stained corpse to help police catch his wife Maria ‘Lulu’ Sosa. She hired the hitman to carry out the killing for just £1,500 – then laughed when she saw a photo of her ‘dead’ husband.
In the shocking image, blood is seen streaming down the shirtless man’s chest from a fake bullet hole in his right temple. But the 50-year-old was actually alive and well.
His wife was busted when she unknowingly tried to hire one of Ramon’s former boxing students to carry out the hit. With the support of the FBI, Texas Rangers painted bloody makeup on Ramon, so it looked as though he had been shot through the temple. Then they drove him to the desert and put him in a ‘shallow grave’, which they had already dug. Taking photographs of the morbid scene – which have now been released under Open Request, the US equivalent of Freedom of Information request – they hid Ramon in a hotel for three days. Then a ‘hitman’ – who was actually an undercover officer – showed Lulu the pictures.
The couple, from Houston, Texas, were together for eight happy years until financial worries put a strain on their relationship in 2015. In October 2016, Lulu, 43, pleaded guilty to solicitation of murder and was jailed for 20 years.
“Lying in the dirt, pretending to be dead, was terrifying,” Ramon recalled. “When I first met Lulu, I certainly didn’t expect our relationship to end like that.”
