Otunba Ganiyu Adams is a Nigerian social activist and politician. Ganiyu is the leader of a faction of the Oodua Peoples Congress, a secessionist and nationalist organisation based in Nigeria, which supports a sovereign state for the Yoruba people.
He was recently honored by the The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, when he picked Gani Adams, as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo designate of Yoruba land, saying it was based on his antecedents in the promotion of Yoruba culture.
A picture on Twitter showed Igbo traditional leaders in Lagos posing for a picture with him to show support for him despite the supposed tension between Igbos and Yoruba in the State due to the OPC activities.
