Frustration As Imo State University Students Fail To Make NYSC List.

Reports from inside the school have reached the media after many students were surprised that their names did not make the list.

The reasons were given by a lecturer in the school who chooses to remain anonymous.

He said that the Government generated the National Youth Service Corps list with the name used on the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB). This means that the name arrangements must be the same with that the student used during his University days, for example; A person who registered for the JAMB examination with a name like ‘Ogu Francis Emeka’ will not find his name on the list if during the University days he used ‘Ogu Emeka Francis’. The lecturer however said that they were given only a small window to rectify the mistakes as before lists could be corrected, compiled and resubmitted, the portal was closed.

Students are advised to maintain calm as the University is working on a solution, he took the opportunity to advise students to ensure that all debts (irrespective of it being small or big) be cleared and documentations should be handy as this is another reason many have their time delayed. Another reason he pointed out is that many wait until it is almost too late before they start running about for reconciliation of results and looking for missing grades, this leads to the various departments having to delay the list of graduates and may lead to their name not appearing on the list.
