The Emir was aged 75 at the time of his death and the secretary to the Rano Emirates Council, Sank Haruna, confirmed the news of the Emir’s death to Premium Times.
On Friday, the late Emir was admitted at the Mallam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for an undisclosed ailment. He was later transferred to the Nasarawa Specialist Hospital where he reportedly died on Saturday.
The late Emir is one of the four new traditional leaders appointed in Kano after things between the Governor of the State, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the former Emir of Kano State, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, went sour.
This comes after Nigerians have been speculating over the cause of the mysterious deaths in Kano as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state continues to rise.
The late Emir left behind 17 children, comprising of 12 ladies and five men. May his soul rest in peace.
