The National Center for disease control (NCDC) has taken to its Twitter account to announce that four new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Nigeria.
According to them, the cases were confirmed by 11 pm on Monday, 23rd March 2020.
Recently, the NCDC announced that Nigeria recorded its first death from the Coronavirus. The virus is really spreading like wildfire in Nigeria as cases keep increasing every day.
“Four new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria,” the NCDC tweets on their official Twitter page. “Three are in Lagos State and 1 in FCT. Two of these cases are returning travellers. As at 11:00 pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. Two have been discharged with 1 death recorded.” the NCDC tweets

Meanwhile, there have been calls for the government to implement a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of the virus. Some states have closed down schools. All federal institutions of higher learning and unity colleges have also been closed down per the directive of the Federal Ministry of Education.
