26 African countries were represented on the list with Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana and Tanzania taking the lead with 20, 17, 12 and 8 representatives respectively.
The list features politicians, activists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, digital influencers, philanthropists & athletes across 10 distinct categories.
According to Prince Akpah, founding President of Africa Youth Awards this year’s honorees were listed for their individual and collective contributions towards positioning the image of Africa as frontrunners in their respective fields.
Notable among the 2018 honourees are Uganda’s Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine), Togo’s Farida Bemba Nabourema, Egypt’s Mohammed Salah and Nigeria’s Davido, Falz and Tomi Adeyemi Idaminabo and Toke Makinwa
